Open Limbs

In

This was the final project for my Biomechanics class. We created an API for the body, allowing remote control over the internet (iPhone accelerometer in the video) or through local devices (flex sensor attached to skeleton in the video).

Details for the project are here. Project site is here.
The project was featured on Yahoo! News and appeared in Italian media.

The name plays off of the Open Source and Open Source Hardware movements, so I thought that would be a good place to start. The silliness of the hands and feet seems to pair well with the unsettling nature of one’s body being remote controlled.
